happy birthday emma boo
emma will turn 6 on monday, 8/15/11, so we celebrated her birthday over the weekend. i was thinking of going to the barkery (bakery place for dogs) and get her a doggie cupcake, but decided to bake her one instead. ingredients included peanut butter, honey, vanilla, vegetable oil, flour, nonfat cream cheese, and shredded carrots. aaron tried a little piece and decided that human cupcakes tastes 100% better. emma and dexter beg to differ. :)
it took everything emma had to "leave it" |

pho challenge
if i'm really hungry, i could eat a large bowl of pho. i'm not sure if i could ever do the pho challenge though. it's 3 x-large bowls of pho in a massive bowl, which equals out to 2lbs of noodles and 2lbs of meat. the challenge is to eat it all (only the noodles and meat, you don't have to eat all the soup) in an hour and if you do, you get your picture taken, the $22 bowl of pho is free, get to keep the big @ss bowl and bragging rights. if you lose, you get a t-shirt and a water bottle. who would be crazy enough to do this? my coworker august. and i'm trying to talk aaron into doing this too - he said he might do it after he runs 18 miles.
signing the waiver which i thought was hilarious - wonder if anyone tried to sue them before? |
pho challenge chopsticks and spoon vs. the regular chopsticks and spoon |
my coworkers left to right: thanhha, tamy, lisa, karen |
more coworkers left to right: august, christine, lana, mike |
bring it on!!! |
2lbs of combination beef and 2lbs of noodles |
half way through - not looking good |
with 17 minutes left to go, august surrendered |
we wanted to see how much food was left. looks like 1-1/2 large bowls of pho, not including soup. august completed about 67%. the owner said about 10% of people that tried the pho challenge finishes. |
