my poor baby dexter

on tuesday we had to take dexter to the vet because there was some oozing coming out of his left shoulder area.  not sure why there was another abcess.  vet thinks it could be a scratch that he got when he was at the shelter that never healed, or a dog scratched at him, or he got the abcess from getting vaccinations, which the vet said is rare.  we have to keep an eye on dexter to see that he doesn't get another abcess because if he does, the vet said there might be something going on with his immune system.  he is back on antibiotics and is on pain medication.  there is less oozing now, but he still feels some pain.  apparently when dogs shake, it usually means that they are in pain.  i hope he feels better soon and back to his usual sweet self.  one thing he's happy about is that he longer needs to wear the e-collar.
