lianne growing up so fast!

Lianne helping me celebrate my birthday.  She looks like an adult now - growing up so fast.  She loves blowing out candles and thinks that all birthday cakes are for her.  :)

emma's tricks

girls day

Had a great time today with Betty - lunch at a Japanese restaurant then pedicure and a haircut at Asara Spa in Fremont. Betty doesn't remember the last time she had a pedicure and a haircut! So it was definitely a treat for her. I guess having three young girls will do that to you. ;)

Betty also treated herself to some toe decorations!

diamond springs

We visited Leroy and Charlotte - last time we were there was last May! How time flies. On Thursday night Leroy and Charlotte volunteered at the Elks Lodge - Aaron and I went there for taco night. $8 for the both of us included two tacos each, and nachos. A great deal!

On the way to Ice House - look at all the snow!

Brrr!!!  At least the view was pretty.

Notice the restroom sign???  Haha.

Emma loves road trips.

cody

To be fair to the family that already adopted Cody, Aaron and I have decided not to keep him. He is such a sweet and friendly doggie. Our only issue is that he has accidents here and there inside the house - not too bad, but still an issue. I hope the family will give him a good home. Before agreeing to take Cody home for a week, Aaron asked if I would be okay when we need to return him. Silly me, I said yes. Thinking about it is already making me sad. :(

I could see the different personalities - Emma keeps herself entertained and pretty much likes to be alone. Cody is needier - always wanting to be pet and has to be right next to you. Emma is possessive with her toys. Cody fetches and brings the toys back to you (most of the time). Emma doesn't follow you everywhere, Cody does. It's cute watching them somewhat play together. Tonight Cody showed Emma who was boss (normally it's the other way around) and got his toy.

He howls like Emma. Both of them were howling and barking when Aaron got home. Very cute.
The picture of them right before I took them on a walk tonight.

cody and emma

I kept going back and forth on whether we should rescue another little furry baby into our household. Yesterday we went to Petco in San Bruno and wanted to see Teddy. Teddy is a Lhasa Apso - he looked so cute on the blog. When I saw him, I was a little shocked to see that he was all shaved. For some reason, I didn't get that "feeling" I did when I saw Emma.

I noticed there was this little cute fluffy white guy and found out that he was available. Laura named him Flopsy because he reminded her of a little bunny. This lady in the wheel chair had first dibs on Flopsy because she was there first. Anyways, she adopted Flopsy (I think it was because she knew that Aaron and I were interested). Laura convinced the family to not pick up Flopsy for another week - I guess she's hoping that maybe they would change their mind so Aaron and I could get Flopsy.

Instead of taking Flopsy back to the kennel and for an 8-9 hour drive, Aaron and I took Flopsy home with us. I think this was also a good idea because I wanted to see how Emma would do with another dog in the house.

Flopsy marked some areas in the house - which I was a little disappointed because my big thing is that the dog is already house-broken. Aaron reminded me that sometimes even dogs that are house-brokened could mark their territories.

Flopsy slept throughout the night, which was great. He did snore a little bit though and I had to put in my ear plugs.

We didn't like the name Flopsy, so we decided to call him Cody. So far he's been great - except for little accidents here and there. I think he's starting to feel comfortable because he's playing with Emma more (Emma probably prefer for him to leave her alone). Hehe.

Lianne took Cody on a walk and he's great with her. Doesn't care that she yanks on his leash or gets him all tangled.

If it doesn't work out with the wheelchair lady, I think Aaron and I have decided to keep Cody. We'll see.

5.10.10 Morning Walk

Emma relieved herself on a snail this morning during our walk. I think the poor snail died from drowning.

Maywood Park in Santa Clara

We took Emma to Maywood Park - as usual, she couldn't wait to get out of the car to sniff at everything. I forgot to bring a camera to take pictures of Emma running around. We had a picnic and watched a soccer scrimmage, then walked and jogged Emma some more around the park.

She is now conked out on the sofa.

Riley

I miss Riley. Sometimes I feel guilty that we didn't take him on more trips, didn't let him lay on our bed more, and most of all - didn't kiss him a lot more. I hope he knew that we loved him very much, still do.

Lick Mill Park

After the club workout, we decided to take Emma to the park before the weather gets too hot. Aaron suggested Lick Mill Park in Santa Clara, so that's where we went. I packed up some sandwiches, snacks, and water. Emma of course couldn't wait to sniff everything. There was a little brown doggie there and she barked at it. When there are a bunch of other dogs around, Emma is fine. But when there is one other dog around, it's like she feels she has to protect us - so she barks. There was this big grassy area off to the side of the park on Lafayette. We were going to take Emma all the way down, but I didn't think that she could make it back. Emma gets tired and hot easily (something about her having two coats on her).

We think Emma had a great time because she is laying on the couch snoring.
