a new addition to our family :)

here is dexter hanging out with emma (she's the one in the background).  we got him from muttville.  he is a 9-year old shih-tzu who has one eye.  here is dexter's story - his owner passed away 3 years ago and dexter was handed down to her adult children.  the children already had their own dog and a couple of weeks ago got another dog and brought dexter to the shelter. we don't know what happened to his other eye, but don't tell him - he is a happy little doggie.   it's okay because we were lucky to have found him and now he is a part of our family :)  why is he wearing an e-collar?  on 9/3/10 his foster mom brought him to the emergency vet because he had an abcess where his eye used to be and it had to be drained.  so far he's been doing great with emma.  one thing i found out about dexter is as soon as you park your car, he has this little cute whine "get me out - i want to check out what's out there!"  emma just looks at him like he's crazy.  he's houstrained and is a little cuddlebug.  the name he came with was GUY, but we decided to change it to dexter - which i think suits him so much better!
